‘Josh Allen’s ceiling is sky high’ (National media members react to Buffalo Bills QB) – newyorkupstate.com

If you just looked at the box score to the Buffalo Bills’ 24-17 loss to the New England Patriots, Josh Allen’s play would not have stood out.

The second-year quarterback completed just 50 percent of his passes (13-of-26). He threw for just 208 yards while rushing for 43 yards on seven carries. Yeah, he had two touchdowns and no interceptions after struggling mightily against the Patriots in Week 4, but the overall stat line doesn’t look great.

Now if you actually watched Saturday’s game, you know that the Bills have a quarterback who can do special things with his arm and legs. That throw to Knox before halftime? Dropped right in the bucket. The 53-yard touchdown pass to John Brown with pressure in his face? An absolute dime. Throw in some timely runs and a few darts on the run and it’s easy to understand why many members of the Bills Mafia love their 23-year old quarterback.

There is no denying that Allen has plenty of room for improvement. He missed two potential touchdown passes to Dawson Knox in the game and had an errant throw to Cole Beasley where the wide receiver had a lot of separation in the middle of the field. That said, his progress from year one to year two cannot be denied. Many members of the national media took note of the quarterback’s play on Saturday and one even said that his opinion of the Bills quarterback has changed after seeing him play this season.

Here’s a look at just some of the best national media reactions to Allen’s play versus the Patriots.
